Encouraging Bible Verse Scriptures for 2016

The new year brings an opportunity to make a fresh start and to put the past behind you. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we find these words: “If anyone is in union with Christ, he is a new creation; the old things passed away; look! new things have come into existence.” With optimism and expectation, you can look forward to the opportunity to serve Jehovah this year and every year.

Seeking Guidance From Uplifting Scriptures

Psalm 96:1-3 gives you joyous guidance with this advice: “Sing to Jehovah a new song. Sing to Jehovah, all the earth! Sing to Jehovah; praise his name. Proclaim the good news of his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, His wonderful works among all the peoples.” How gloriously you can enjoy the days ahead by focusing on bible verses for the new year.

The Watchtower Online Library makes it easy to find scriptures for your meditations. A committee of anointed witnesses of Jehovah translated Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek texts into modern-day English to create the New World Translation (NWT). The new 2013 revision makes it even easier to appreciate Jehovah’s thoughts. Guidance, joy and inspiration are as close to you as your computer when you go to the online library.

Searching for Inspiration

Scriptures for the new year are easy to find in the NWT when you use the search tool in the online library. Ephesians 4:22 reminds you that “You were taught to put away the old personality that conforms to your former course of conduct and that is being corrupted according to its deceptive desires.” You can search for the next two verses that expand the inspirational thought. Take the time to search for Proverbs 23:18, Psalm 31:23, 24 and Lamentations 3:22, 23 so that you can meditate on the promises that the scriptures give you. Find hope for the year to come with the inspiration in Jeremiah 29:11, Proverbs 15:9 and Psalm 65:11.

Seeking Assurance

Ezekiel 36:26-28 gives you assurance of Jehovah’s purpose for you with these precious words: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit inside you. I will remove the heart of stone from your body and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my spirit inside you, and I will cause you to walk in my regulations, and you will observe and carry out my judicial decisions. Then you will dwell in the land that I gave to your forefathers, and you will be my people and I will be your God.”

Whenever you feel sad, alone or discouraged, you can return to this scripture again and again to renew your spirit. The scriptures give you the guidance and inspiration that you need to approach the coming year in a manner that is joyous, praiseworthy and purposeful.
